GREAT OCEAN ROAD, KANGAROO ISLAND & ADELAIDE

From AUD $4,495.00
  • Duration: 11 Days (approx.)
  • Location: Kangaroo Island

This tour offers a great combination of experiences. We will enjoy all the colour, charm and sophistication of Melbourne, the rugged splendour of the Great Ocean Road, Mt Gambier and Coorong Coast, exceptional wine regions, Gulf St Vincent, the majestic coastline of the Fleurieu Peninsula, the spectacular wilderness of Kangaroo Island and the culture and refinement of Adelaide.

This tour has been designed with multi night stays in Warrnambool (2), Kangaroo Island (3) and Adelaide (2 nights). Although covering a reasonable distance over the 11 days, multi night stays help make the tour more relaxed, eliminating the need to pack and unpack each day.  Melbourne is a fabulous city to visit year round and our tour will include several of our beautiful southern capital’s highlights, along with Werribee and the Bellarine Peninsula.  The Great Ocean Road, snaking its way around 250 kilometres of the Southern Victorian Coast, offers some of the most beautiful scenery imaginable. Huge cliffs, roaring seas, rainforest hinterlands, the sculptured majesty of The Twelve Apostles and delightful coastal villages line our route from Geelong to South Australia. Kangaroo Island provides a truly unique experience with its stunning beaches, forests and farmlands. Travelling to the tip of the Fleurieu Peninsula we will board the Sea Link Ferry at Cape Jervis for the 15km crossing to Penneshaw. The Island is surprisingly large with numerous towns and villages and many farms. Around one third of its four and half thousand kilometres is covered by national parks and the Island is a haven for Kangaroos, Wallabies, Koalas and Fur Seals. Adelaide, Australia’s first planned city is truly a delight. Colonel William Light has left a wonderful legacy, the city layout surrounded by 900 hectares of parklands is an urban masterpiece and has been included on the National Heritage List. Apart from its natural beauty Adelaide is a vibrant, sophisticated and cosmopolitan city that has developed a reputation as an arts centre as well as a gateway to some of the best wine regions in the world. Located on the coastline of Gulf St Vincent, Adelaide’s beach districts stretch for 30 kilometres. We will explore Glenelg as well as the rich European heritage so evident in the Hills’ villages such as Hahndorf.
