CANBERRA & DISCOVERING ANCIENT EGYPT EXHIBITION

From AUD $525.00
  • Duration: 2 Days (approx.)
  • Location: Batemans Bay

We will explore the history & culture of ancient Egypt from the Dutch National Museum of Antiquities, featuring over 200 fascinating items spanning over 3,000 years of civilisation. See intricately decorated coffins, extracts from the book of Dead, stunning sculptures, art and jewellery, along side everyday artefacts.

We will step through a life-sized temple, see depictions of gods including Isis and Horus and try hands-on activities as we explore the ancient world. The exhibition focuses on the history of discovery and key moments like the unearthing of the Rosetta Stone and the discovery of the tomb of the young Tutankhamun.

Our itinerary has been designed to allow ample time to appreciate this fabulous exhibition along with some flexibility to allow individual choice - with so many attractions so close together it is possible to run a shuttle between venues so as to avoid duplication from previous visits. You will be able to choose from the following excellent attractions.

* Old Parliament House      * War Memorial                     * National Library

** The Australian National Gallery is currently featuring an exhibition by Emily Kam Kngwarrary which may be an attractive option.
