SCONE CUP & TAMWORTH

From AUD $1,525.00
  • Duration: 5 Days (approx.)
  • Location: Scone
This tour combines the outstanding Hunter Valley and New England regions of NSW. Situated on the banks of the Peel River, Tamworth is the commercial and administrative capital of the New England. While visitors flock to the area in January for its iconic Country Music Festival, Tamworth has so much to offer year round. It is surrounded by productive agricultural country and it’s Equine and Livestock Events Centre is world class. Our first 3 nights accommodation is at the 4 star Best Western All Settlers Motor Inn.

The Hunter Valley is an amazingly rich and diverse area. Famous as a horse breeding centre, the district also boasts a fascinating history, ruggedly beautiful mountain ranges, a flourishing wine industry and great country hospitality. Our final nights accommodation is at the Charbonnier Motel, Singleton.

Since 1947 the Scone community has embraced the running of the Scone Cup which has built in popularity to such an extent that the town welcomes over 8,000 patrons to the track each year. The current race track, opened in 1994, is a state of the art facility and offers trainers, jockeys and owners a superb and true racing surface. The Scone Cup Carnival attracts some of Australia’s leading jockeys and trainers and 2022 will be no exception. Upper Hunter Shire Council declares a half day holiday for the local community and visitors attend from all over Australia, as well as overseas. Apart from the excitement of backing lots of winners, we will have our own unique ‘fashions in the field’ contest with fabulous prizes.

While the highlight of the tour will be the Scone Cup race meeting, we will also have the opportunity to take in many of the regions great attractions.
