Cairns is a modern vibrant city with a delightful blend of colonial architecture from grand public buildings to rambling country pubs. As the gateway to the world heritage listed Great Barrier Reef and lush rainforests, Cairns is one of our most popular destinations for overseas visitors and Australian holiday makers alike. Our 5 star accommodation for 3 nights is at Crystalbrook Bailey, Cairns (Ph: 07 4253 4000) which provides the perfect base for exploring this unique area. The Hotel is modern and comfortable with a great location close to the city centre and each room is spacious and elegantly appointed.

Flying in and out of Cairns, our itinerary has been designed to allow a leisurely pace to explore the delights of the tropical north. On arrival we will be met by our coach for the start of our tour of this vibrant northern city.

Historic Cooktown is a small town located on the mouth of the Endeavour River and is the northernmost town on the east coast. It became a thriving port during the gold rush era after it was discovered by Captain James Cook when his vessel hit a reef. Hardened pioneering characters and years of geographic isolation have added to the frontier town’s unique character which continues to charm people today. Wide streets with impressive handmade stone guttering, quaint buildings and graceful well preserved Queenslander architecture give a hint of the days gone by. Monuments and museums with carefully preserved relics are reminders of the town’s history, while the well maintained cemetery bears testament to the hardships endured more than a century ago. Our accommodation here for 2 nights is the Sovereign Resort (Ph: 07 4043 0500).

Port Douglas is the only place on Earth where two World Heritage listed jewels exist side by side - The Great Barrier Reef and the rainforest of Daintree and Cape Tribulation. It is a tropical oasis offering a small friendly village atmosphere. Discover the breathtaking northern tropics and be inspired by the amazing array of nature and wildlife in its glorious simplicity. Our 2 nights here will be at the Oaks Port Douglas Resort (Ph: 07 4099 8900).
