CORAL EXPEDITIONS - KIMBERLEY CRUISE - CALL OFFICE TO BOOK

From AUD $13,099.00
  • Duration: 10 Days (approx.)
  • Location: Darwin
Perfected over 37 years our 10 night Kimberley cruise with Coral Expeditions will take us on an unforgettable journey from Darwin to Broome. Launched in March 2021, Coral Geographer is the newest addition to their fleet, purpose-designed to access remote wilderness shores around the world that are often inaccessible to large vessels. She has over 1000 square metres of open deck space, multiple bars, majority balcony staterooms and suites, and public areas featuring a collection of Australian Indigenous art.

Coral Geographer is as comfortable as she is capable – her design drawns on the lastest technical advances as well as Coral Expeditions 37 years of experience building and operating expedition ships. The ship’s lightweight dual Xplorer tenders, a trademark feature of all their vessels, extend the capabilities of the ship by allowing deeper exploration on shore excursions. These “safari jeeps” of the sea are fast, sturdy, and comfortable and developed to allow easy boarding from the ship and walk off disembarkation onto remote shores.

Able to navigate into shallow bays, disembark onto remote islands, and visit small villages without overwhelming the environment or community, Coral Geographer explores the hidden nooks and crannies of Australia’s Kimberley Coast. Coral Geographer carries a maximum of 120 guests, delivering Coral Expeditions renowned warm Australian hospitality, intimate onboard atmosphere, and world-class expedition experience.

Between June and October each year the worlds largest pod of Humpback Whales (an estimated 40,000 individuals) journey to the pristine waters of W.A’s Kimberley coast to birth calves in one of the greatest animal migrations on the planet.

Expert guides interpret 40,000 year old rock art and retrace the history of Phillip Parker King who first charted this spectacular coastline 200 years ago. We will board a Zodiac and touch the spray from the magnificent King George River and its towering 80 metre twin falls. We will join an expert guide to learn about the history of the ancient Wandjina and Gwion rock paintings. We will witness waterfalls cascading off Montgomery Reef as it rises out of the ocean on the ebbing tide whilst discovering the reef’s diverse marine life.

Highlights include the opportunity to:

• Experience the thrill of riding the Horizontal Falls in inflatable Zodiac tender vessels
• Get up close to Montgomery Reef and discover the tidal reef’s diverse marine life
• Witness King George River and 80m tall twin King George waterfalls
• Cruise the Prince Regent River to the ‘hanging garden’ King Cascade waterfall
• Encounter Indigenous rock art galleries and learn about ancient Wandjina and Gwion Gwion art
• Spot native wildlife and birdlife in their natural habitat
• View the Kimberley landscape by air on a scenic helicopter flight to Mitchell Falls (additional cost)
