YEPPOON TO BRISBANE

The Capricorn Coast is a diverse and breathtakingly beautiful region of Central Queensland. Rockhampton, on the Tropic of Capricorn, is the unofficial capital and Australia’s beef capital. We will fly into Rocky on our way to Yeppoon, which looks out on the sparkling blue waters of the Keppel Islands – 20 pristine islands of the southern Great Barrier Reef.  With the protection of a fringing reef, the water surrounding the Keppels are amazingly calm and the coral here is home to an abundance of tropical fish.

Agnes Water is a picturesque coastal gem in Queensland, celebrated for its relaxed charm and breathtaking natural beauty. As the gateway to the Southern Great Barrier Reef, it offers a perfect blend of adventure and tranquility. Nearby, the historic town of 1770 holds a special place in Australian history as the second landing site of Lieutenant James Cook and the crew of the Endeavour in May 1770, marking their first visit to what is now Queensland. With its serene atmosphere, endless outdoor activities, and welcoming community, Agnes Water is an idyllic escape for nature lovers and those seeking a peaceful retreat.

Bundaberg is situated on the Burnett River and is one of the largest and most prosperous coastal cities in Queensland. It has retained many 19th century heritage buildings and combined with its beautiful parks and gardens, has a graceful charm. The region is the gateway to the Southern Barrier Reef and provides access to Lady Musgrave and Lady Elliot Islands.

Our journey back to Brisbane will be on the Tilt Train and our stay will allow us to explore some of the outstanding features of our northern capital
