Victorian Silo Art Trail & Grampians

- Duration: 8 Days (approx.)
- Location: Melbourne
Melbourne is a vibrant city year-round and especially beautiful in Spring. We begin our journey here, taking in many of the highlights of our southern capital. With 4-star accommodation throughout — including two-night stays in both Melbourne and Halls Gap — this tour offers a relaxed pace with plenty of time to enjoy each region without constant packing and unpacking.
Heading west from Melbourne towards the Grampians, we travel through historic Ballarat and Ararat. The Grampians National Park is one of Victoria’s most treasured landscapes, renowned for its rugged mountain ranges, sweeping lookouts, rich vegetation and abundant wildlife. Covering more than 167,000 hectares, the park reveals valleys of river red gums, fern-lined gullies and stunning rock formations, offering unforgettable views and experiences.
We then journey into the heart of the Wimmera Mallee to explore the remarkable Silo Art Trail — Australia’s largest outdoor gallery. Stretching over 200 kilometres, this inspiring project showcases large-scale silo murals that celebrate the people and spirit of the region. Conceived in 2015, it has brought new life to some of Victoria’s smallest towns and has become a major drawcard for art and regional history enthusiasts. We visit the eight original silo installations, along with additional murals across the district.
Turning east, our adventure continues along the Murray River and its tributaries — the Goulburn and Murrumbidgee Rivers — visiting thriving rural centres such as Swan Hill, Shepparton and Wagga Wagga. Each town offers its own unique charm, rich heritage and surprising cultural attractions.
