Very few people are unmoved by their first visit to Africa and for most that feeling remains each time they return. Our tour with Bench Africa will give us a wonderful insight into the awe inspiring wildlife, the rich and diverse cultures and the fabulous natural landscape that make Africa such a fascinating destination.. Bench was established in 1969 and each of its tours contributes to local economies, funding wildlife conservation and supporting communities.

Our tour has been designed with many highlights and spectacular contrasts, from the Cape to Victoria Falls, with adventure at every turn. Our experienced local guides will provide peace of mind while ensuring our experience is unforgettable.

Cape Town’s setting is simply stunning nestled between a dramatic coastline of pristine beaches, the iconic Table Mountain, vineyards and historical landmarks. It is South Africa’s oldest city and our 4 nights allows us to explore many of its attractions, including Bo-Kaap, known for its colourful houses and fragrant Cape Malay Spice shops, Company’s Gardens flanked by the National Museum and National Art Gallery, Green Market Square African Craft Markets, The Victoria and Alfred waterfront with its shopping, dinning and cruising options, Cape Winelands, Stellionbosch and Cape Point Nature Reserve.

Makutsi Safari Springs is a privately owned wildlife reserve offering thousands of hectares of tranquillity. It is surrounded by the Kruger National Park and Blyde River Canyon, which we will visit on day excursions. Our game drives follow strict rules on the number of vehicles allowed in one area, which give us the opportunity to observe the wildlife in a relaxed and natural state.

Our accommodation is in African style rondavels scattered around the open and spacious Makutsi camp, which features indoor and outdoor natural, warm, spring water pools.

Another awe inspiring feature of our journey is Victoria Falls, on the Zambezi River between Zimbabwe and Zambia. It is one of the world’s largest waterfalls with a width of over 1700 metres. Mosi-Oa Tunya (smoke that thunders) was named by Scottish missionary and explorer David Livingstone, in 1855. Our 3 night stay here includes more wildlife encounters in Chobe National Park in Botswana and time to enjoy another truly spectacular location, including our Boma Cultural dinner where we will experience the warm hospitality of the Zimbabwean people.
