KANGAROO ISLAND

Från AUD 2 295,00 AU$
  • Varaktighet: 4 Dagar (cirka)
  • Plats: Kangaroo Island

Kangaroo Island provides a truly unique experience with its stunning beaches, forests and farmlands. Travelling to the tip of the Fleurieu Peninsula we will board the Sea Link Ferry at Cape
Jervis for the 15km crossing to Penneshaw.   The Island is surprisingly large with numerous towns and villages and many farms.  Around one third of its four and half thousand square kilometres (the third largest island in Australia, Kangaroo Island stretches nearly 155km) is covered by national parks and the island is a haven for kangaroos, wallabies, koalas and fur seals.

The island is recovering well after the devastating bushfires of 2020. Our 4 day tour will allow us to explore the richness of both its wildlife and history and admire the spirit and resilience of the island’s residences as they recover and rebuild. Mathew Flinders and Nicholas Baudin were early European visitors to the island followed by American sealers and whalers that almost hunted its sea lions and fur seals to extinction. However, they have made a remarkable comeback and are a feature of any visit to the island.
