The vast wilderness of Kosciusko National Park offers stunning mountain scenery and air so fresh and clean you can tell every breath is doing you good. We will visit many of the area's interesting towns and villages, marvelling at the engineering masterpiece that is the Snowy Mountain Scheme. Over 100,000 people, from more than 30 countries, worked on the construction between 1949 – 1975 in incredibly difficult locations and conditions.

Jindabyne has a spectacular backdrop of Australia’s highest peaks and the pristine waters of the lake. The town’s population swells during the winter with skiers and snowboarders flocking to the region, but during any of the four seasons, it is never less than a postcard destination.

Exceptional natural beauty and a rich heritage are the defining characteristics of the region. Tumut has an interesting Gold history with rushes dating back to 1852, and these days, much prosperity derives from the booming timber industry. The town sits at the northwestern gateway to the Kosciusko National Park and is framed by very old plantings of poplars, elms, willows and claret ash.

Our accommodation for this tour includes 2 nights at the 4-star Horizons Resort overlooking picturesque Lake Jindabyne, followed by 2 nights at the Tumut Valley Motel in Tumut, set on 4 acres of landscaped grounds. They provide the perfect base to explore this ruggedly beautiful alpine region
