This tour combines the picturesque NSW north coast, the laidback Sunshine Coast, spectacular Fraser Island and cosmopolitan Brisbane. Our accommodation is 4 star all the way with 2 nights at Opal Cove Resort at Coffs Harbour, 3 nights at Oaks Caloundra, 3 nights at Kingfisher Bay Resort and a night at the Point Hotel, Kangaroo Point, in Brisbane.
Our second destination is the Sunshine Coast and here we will explore the ancient mountain landscapes and lush hinterland surrounding the Glass House Mountains and Blackall Ranges. Set high in the range, Montville offers spectacular views over the cane fields and small farms on the coastal plain which stretches out to the immaculate sandy beaches and clear blue waters of the Pacific. Our accommodation on the sunshine Coast is at the 4 star Oaks Oasis Resort, set on 10 acres of landscaped gardens and a short stroll to Golden Beach.
Opal Cove Resort is set on a beautiful absolute beach front position on Korora Bay. It boasts 36 hectares of sub tropical gardens surrounded by banana plantations and rainforest clad hills. We will explore the coastline, including the Solitary Islands Marine Park, along with the towering forests of the hinterland and many of its lovely towns and villages.
Hervey Bay is Australia’s whale watching headquarters and gateway to Fraser Island. Fraser Island is the world’s largest sand island and obtained its heritage listing for its ancient rainforest, mighty sand dunes, pristine freshwater lakes and streams and an abundance of birds and free roaming wildlife. Offshore Humpback whales frolic in the protected waters of Hervey Bay and on the ocean side of the island the endless white sands of 75 Mile Beach stretch beyond the horizon.
We will stay at the world acclaimed Kingfisher Bay Resort which has won many environmental, tourism and architectural awards. The resort blends in perfect harmony with its superb natural surroundings and our activities on the island include a ranger guided 4 wheel drive tour taking in Woongoolba Creek, the rainforest at Central Station, 75 Mile Beach and the beautiful Lake McKenzie.
