MUDGEE

From AUD $1,250.00
  • Duration: 4 Days (approx.)
  • Location: Mudgee
Mudgee, aboriginal for ‘nest in the hills’, is a beautiful town and great destination for a short break. Our journey takes us over the Blue Mountains and home through Merriwa, Denman and the Hunter Valley.

Our accommodation is 4 star at the Parklands Resort Mudgee (Ph 6372 4500), set on 15 hectares of gardens and pasture land, where we will enjoy its friendly country hospitality and excellent facilities.

The town and surrounding districts are rich in history and we will have Jenny Tidey, an enthusiastic local, sharing Mudgee’s heritage as well as bringing us up to date with more recent developments. A flourishing wine industry has seen the town expand in recent years, however Mudgee has retained its character with settlement here dating back to the 1820s and its ‘golden’ past remains very evident. Surrounded by rich grazing country and a diversity of agriculture and horticulture, all framed by stunning National Parks, the district has seen enormous interest in recent years. It has been awarded Australia’s Top Tourism Town for the last 2 years!
