Good old fashioned country hospitality and picturesque rural scenery make Young a great place to visit year round.  Apart from being Australia's cherry capital, there is a wide range of agriculture and horticulture as well as a rich history which combine to make Young such an attractive destination.  Broad acre crops such as wheat and oats along with canola, lucerne, asparagus and other vegetables sit between horse, cattle and sheep studs and award winning vineyards. The legacy of the gold fields in the form of some lovely heritage buildings is evident, as is the prosperity flowing from the surrounding rural community.

Temora has a rich aviation history having been home to the No 10 Elementary Flying School which during WWII, involved more than 10,000 personnel and trained more than 2,400 pilots.   Since then Temora has continued its aviation heritage being a busy airfield for a growing number of sport aviation activities including gliding, parachuting and ultralight operations.  In 2000 the Temora Aviation Museum opened, dedicated to the aircraft and pilots who defended Australia and all the aircraft in the collection are flightworthy.   The collection boasts Tiger Moths, Wirraways, Spitfires, Ryans, Lockheed Hudsons, Boomerangs, Sabres and Cessna Dragonflys, some of which will take to the skies during our visit.

Our accommodation for this tour is the 4 star Young Federation Motor Inn and includes delicious dinners and full cooked breakfasts.  It is without doubt one of the best motels in country NSW and provides the perfect base to explore the Central West.  This region offers an incredible diversity from thriving cities to the many smaller country towns, each with its own unique character.  Our journey to Young  will take us through the Southern Highlands & Yass and on our return we will travel through Carcoar, Blayney, Bathurst, Katoomba and Leura.
